I am a writer, mom, and shellfish farmer.
In 2004 I survived the Indian Ocean Tsunami, a pivotal experience that shaped my worldview. Later, I served as a deck officer aboard an ocean-going research vessel, earning my 1600 ton near coastal mate’s license in the process.
I have a degree in environmental studies from the University of Washington, with native shellfish restoration holding a very dear place in my heart. I also went on to earn an MBA from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, and while finance wasn’t my speed, I found entrepreneurial strategy enthralling. I also took great joy in completing creative writing courses through Edmonds College and Imprint Books, and attending the Edmond’s Write on the Sound conference.
These days I spend my time enjoying my family, writing, and managing the oyster farm my husband and I established on Washington’s Hood Canal.
Thank you for visiting.
